After last year's rush to finish the Longhorn Saloon, the Regulators were convinced that we should get started a little earlier on our prep for this year's event. We began gathering our scrap lumber and barn wood early and scheduled several work days. In the end, our little town of South Fork grew substantially for the WBIT. We added the Jail, The Emporium and The South Fork Bank & Rust, oh, I meant Bank & Trust. We are quite proud of our little 'burg.
On down the street, though, some nefarious characters were waiting for the law to be distracted. Now was the chance to rob that bank. Wm. Mordica, Lucky and Lupe bust into the bank to get their hands on that strongbox.
This year's WBIT was the best ever. The Regulators performed every hour to large crowds. The scenarios varied from jailbreaks to robberies, from gambling disputes to outright drunken brawls. In the end, the Regulators had a great time and we hope all those who attended enjoyed it, too. Thanks to Dana Keller and the Audrain County Historical Society for allowing us to participate in a first class Living History event!!
Above: Mad Bad John, the saloon keeper is having a heck of a time with a gambler and calls the law to have Deadeye Butch 'removed' from his establishment.
Deputy Bounty Hunter is more than willing to help MBJ out. He escorts Deadeye from town, but only after he gives back his winnings.
They drag the strongbox into the street and try in vain to open it. Lupe finally tells them that she has the key, but it is too late. The townspeople have figured out what is going on and start firing at the outlaws.
Deputy Bounty Hunter finds some unexpected help in Deadeye. The two of them along with the rest of the townspeople stop the robbery, save the strongbox and dispatch all three outlaws.
Deputy Frank E. William stops Lucky and Bisley from breaking Cherokee out of jail with 'explosive results.'
Deadeye Butch and Missouri Bounty Hunter pose with the Longhorn Saloon's soiled dove, Sarah.
Cherokee get a shot off, but goes down in the middle of one of the many gun battles on Saturday.
How would you like to look down the street and see these three mean lookin' critters staring you down?
Above and right: Chance, Frank and Trailboss decide they better run those fellers out of town pronto!!
The results are the same, death and carnage. Bisley, Lupe, Cherokee, Lucky and Bounty all go down at the hands of those quick-triggered lawdogs of South Fork. What a great time!!!
